Shannon Stem
Shannon Stem is one of the founders of Beacon Arts Collective and takes great joy in serving as one of Beacon's Musical Theatre Directors!
Mrs. Shannon Stem is the music teacher and musical theatre director at University Academy in Panama City, FL where she teaches students in Kindergarten through 8th grades.
In 2012, Mrs. Stem graduated from Troy University in Troy, Alabama with the Bachelor of Music Education degree. Shannon Stem has served the elementary music teachers in the state of Florida by serving as the District 6 Chair for the Florida Elementary Music Educators Association and currently serves as the Florida Elementary Music Educators Association President-Elect. In addition, she regularly has articles published in the Florida Music Director as well as on the FEMEA Blog, serves as a mentor teacher for new music teachers, and has served in multiple roles in the Bay District Elementary Music Council, including President, Secretary, and Music Festival Chair. Mrs. Stem has been recognized by the Florida Music Education Association as an Emerging Leader, has presented at many state and regional music and leadership conferences, has served on the revision committee for the Florida Teacher Certification Exam in Music, and was named as the Teacher Of The Year at Hutchison Beach Elementary School in 2016-17, being a district Top 5 finalist for the award. Shannon Stem was also a 2022 and 2024 quarterfinalist and a 2025 semifinalist for the Grammy Music Educator Award. Most recently, Mrs. Stem was named a member of the Yamaha "40 Under 40" Music Educator Class.
Shannon Stem is a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, Alpha Delta Kappa, Sigma Alpha Iota, The National Association for Music Education, The Florida Music Education Association, The Florida Elementary Music Educators Association, and the Tallahassee Area Orff Chapter.

In the spring of 2024, Shannon Stem began acting on a long time dream of having a youth community theatre company in Panama City Beach. She partnered with her friend and co-founder, Madi Fann, and in July of 2025 Beacon Arts Collective was born! Since the fall of 2025, Beacon has continued to grow in both skill and in number and Shannon is excited to see where the Lord leads Beacon Arts Collective!
